Photo: Tourmaster Tourmaster Horizon Line The Trek pants Oh yeah, and a thermal liner, and rain liner. The Horizon Line The Trek pants come with reasonable venting, adjustable knee armor, and practical pockets. At $279.99 MSRP, I believe this jacket is excellent value for money. And honestly, the jacket still looks great, and works well. I think this is because I was sent a pre-production jacket, but was unable to confirm either way. ![]() Nothing came apart, but it looked just a bit sloppy. The only thing I didn’t like about this jacket: The material along the edges of pockets, etc., seemed to fray a bit. With enough pockets for all the stuff you accumulate on a multi-day trip (including handwarmer-style pockets, a sometimes-overlooked essential), this jacket appears to have been designed by someone who’s spent plenty of time on the road, someone who knows what’s needed in a good piece of kit. I spent day after day in this jacket on a trip through Newfoundland last summer, in a wide range of weather, and at the end of it all, it felt like a second skin. Combine that venting with comfortable four-way stretch material in the shoulders and accordion-style stretch fabric in the elbows, as well as mid-torso and arm adjustment straps, and you’ve got an easy-to-wear jacket. I’m no fan of zip-in waterproofing, I will say that the rain liner got the job done this summer, when I tested it (I still would recommend riders only use the liner as a backup, and bring an external rain jacket on trips).Īnd, on those rare hot and muggy mid-summer days, there are plenty of vents (with openings at chest, bicep, underarm, and a large exhaust panel in back). The thermal lining will take the chill off in late spring and early fall. This three-layer system means this jacket is suited for most weather conditions here in eastern Canada. To make the jacket more weatherproof, there’s a stowaway inside-the-helmet hood in the collar, along with a removable Reissa waterproof lining, then a full-sleeve thermal lining. The jacket’s shell also has a water-repellent coating that repels light rainshowers. The shell is mostly made of 600-denier polyester, with shoulders, elbows and forearms reinforced with a 1000-denier polyester material, and external TPU shoulder armor. It is a three-layer jacket, with road rash-proof exterior. ![]() This is a standard textile 3/4 adventure-style jacket.
